Go Wild! in Francisco

Go Wild! in Francisco

Visitors are invited to join Our Communities to take a walk on the wild side. Experts from local, county, and state agencies and other organizations will be available to discuss most (nearly all!) things wild! Get an up-close look at local snakes, a barred owl, screech owl, red shoulder hawk, black vulture, and more with live exhibits!

We will explore the park through various activities that include scavenger hunts to identify wildflowers, trees, and other living organisms found in the park.

Agencies/organizations present include the following (with even more to come):

  • NC Forest Services

  • NC Wildlife Resources

  • Stokes County Soil and Water Conservation

  • Stokes County Extension / USDA

  • Yadkin Valley Wildlife Federation

  • Dan River Basin Association

  • Foothills Snorkel Trail

  • Piedmont Land Conservancy

  • Friends of Sauratown Mountains

This event is free and open to the public.
